Chief Steve Scott
I was born in Oakland, CA but spent the majority of my life in Broken Bow, NE. After graduating from Broken Bow High School, I continued my education at Chadron State College, receiving my Associate of Arts degree in Criminal Justice.
I began my employment with the Broken Bow Police Department October 20, 1980, graduating from the 60th Basic at the Nebraska Law Enforcement Training Center in May of 1981. I served several years as a patrolman, then Sergeant and was promoted to my current position as Chief of Police in 2005.
I have served as a POAN board member since 2013. I advanced to 2nd Vice President in 2019-2020, 1st Vice President in 2020-2021 and am honored to now serve as President of the POAN in 2021-2022.
I am married with three children and six grandchildren.
