Chief Mark Hogue

I grew up in Richardson County Nebraska, graduating from Dawson-Verdon High school in 1985. I then joined the United States Air Force in 1986 serving as a Fire Fighter. I was honorably discharged in 1991 after the first Gulf War. I then started my Law Enforcement career as a Deputy Sheriff in Pawnee County in 1992. I graduated from the 117 th Basic Training Session in December 1993. During my career I worked in Johnson and Hall County as a Deputy Sheriff. In 2000 I joined the Merrick County Sheriff's Office where I was promoted to Sergeant in 2003 then to Chief Deputy in 2004. In 2010 I joined the Central City Police Department where I am currently employed. I served as the agency's Firearms, Patrol Rifle and Defensive Tactics Instructor. In January 2013, I was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant. I was promoted to Chief of Police in January 2015.
